President Emmerson Mnangagwa handed over 84 vehicles to traditional chiefs in Harare on Thursday. The president said that the government appreciated the role of traditional chiefs and recognised their status in society. Mnangagwa also reassured the chiefs that their allowances will be reviewed during the Mid Term Monetary Review in June.
The vehicles were distributed as follows:
- Mashonaland East (10)
- Manicaland (10)
- Mashonaland West (9)
- Mashonaland Central (7)
- Masvingo (13)
- Matabeleland South (8)
- Midlands (14)
- Matabeleland North (13)
124 chiefs are yet to receive their vehicles and Mnangagwa reassured them that the government was working on securing the vehicles.
