5.43 Million Registered To Vote: ZEC

Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba has revealed that the electoral body has registered 5.43 million voters by April. She also said that her organisation has established a secure data centre where all the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) data will be stored.

Said Justice Chigumba,

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has conducted Biometric Voter Registration where approximately 5.43 million voters were registered as at April 2018. The ZEC has an established data centre where BVR data is securely stored. Both physical and technical access is restricted to authorised ZEC personnel only…. The ZEC will send SMS messages to all registrants who provided valid cell phone numbers confirming their demographic data and polling station.
