Marry Chiwenga Denies Grabbing Arda Farm, Demands Apology, Threatens To Sue

Vice President, General Constantino Chiwenga’s wife, Marry has denied reports that she grabbed the 300-hectare Arda Seeds farm. She has also denied that her husband has vast wealth and has threated to sue the weekly investigative newspaper, The Zimbabwe Independent unless she receives an apology. Part of a letter written to the newspaper by Marry’s lawyers reads,

Without wanting to dignify what you say about the Vice President with a response, we call upon you to do the honourable thing by apologising to the public and stating that it is untrue that Mrs Mary Chiwenga seized the 300-hectare farm.

If, however, we do not hear from you within the next 14 days, we shall proceed to take action…In the same article, an insinuation is made that our client’s husband owns a number of farms and that he has vast wealth. This is not true whatsoever.
