Former Zanu-PF Bikita West legislator Munyaradzi Kereke yesterday had his appeal against both conviction and 10-year sentence imposed on him for raping his niece postponed indefinitely.
Kereke is serving time at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison. He was acquitted on a charge of indecently assaulting his other minor niece. Through his lawyer Advocate Thabani Mpofu Kereke seeks to have magistrate Mr Noel Mupeiwa’s decision overturned. Kereke’s lawyer argues the magistrate relied on circumstantial evidence without following the procedure relating to the admission of such evidence.
