Following the reports last week that a Minerd Mizeki College student died of cholera, the school has come out refuting the claims.
The school gave out a statement today:
Contrary to reports circulated on social media and on zbc on monday 12th March 2018 that there had been an outbreak of cholera at Bernard Mizeki College in marondera, which had resulted in the death of a student “after more than ten stu-dents had complained of stomach ailments” the reports of a cholera outbreak at Bernard Mizeki College are unfound-ed and totally untrue.
A team of medical personnel that was dispatched to the college by the ministry of health and child care on monday the 12th of March 2018 in response to the allegations have found that there was no trace of cholera at Bernard Mizeki College.
The college obtains its water from boreholes and the water supply is safe from contamination. The public is kindly advised accordingly. E.c. Watambwa board chairman
