Deputy Minister of Defence (War Veterans) and Secretary General of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) Victor Matemadanda has said that former president Robert Mugabe did not go undergo military training and never fought in the Second Chimurenga at the front. He emphasized that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s presidency was different from that of former president Robert Mugabe because Mnangagwa is a former freedom fighter.
However, Matemadanda acknowledged that Mugabe was a civilian leader who contributed to the war effort in administration. Matemadanda was questioned on why Zanu-PF chooses to reveal certain historical details only when people fall out.

I think its time to talk about making drones and so forth not war which is 38 years old what are we benefiting from war history. The people who went to war destroyed our country so war is sometimes useless as it has benefited a few.
