Mnangagwa To Address Zanu-PF Youth Assembly, Politburo
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is scheduled to address Zanu-PF Youth League’s national assembly in Harare today.
The party’s politburo will also be meeting today at Zanu-PF Headquarters in Harare. Zanu-PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo yesterday confirmed today’s politburo meeting but did not reveal its agenda. Indications are that the meeting will focus on election preparations, as well as economic issues.
Zanu-PF secretary for Youth Affairs Pupurai Togarepi confirmed the wing’s national assembly meeting today where more than 400 youths from all the 10 provinces are expected to attend. This will be the party youths’ first meeting with the President Mnangagwa after the military intervention in November last year. The Youth League yesterday held a national executive meeting in preparation of today’s. Togarepi said the youths would have an opportunity to present issues affecting them to the President who is expected to respond. Said Togarepi:
Since this is our first meeting, the youths have various issues across sectors and they will be presented tomorrow and unlike those Interface Rallies we expect the President to respond.
