Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) sources told The Herald that several police officers at Harare Central Police Station were questioned over the death of two people in the capital on Thursday last week.
This comes after ZRP Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga said he had directed a team of investigators to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal shootings. According to police sources, the team of investigators questioned officers who were involved in the shootings on Monday. They revealed that no arrests have been made so far. Said a senior police officer:
Several officers have since been questioned in connection with the case, but no arrests have been made. Investigations are still continuing and we are likely to have the results anytime this week.
Attempts to get a comment from police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba by The Herald were fruitless.
