Former vice-president Joice Mujuru and some of her supporters were stoned by alleged Zanu-PF Youths in Glen Norah today. Mujuru who is the leader of the opposition National People’s Party (NPP) was addressing a People’s Rainbow Coalition (PRC) rally when they were attacked. The former vice president had to seek medical treatment after complaining that some of her teeth are aching.

According to Jealousy Mawarire, her former spokesperson who says he spoke to her, two of the assailants are soldiers and have since been arrested. They are currently being detained at Glen Norah Police Station. Speaking on Twitter, Mawarire said

Just spoke to Dr Mujuru, she says several of her teeth on the right side are aching & the right cheek is numb. She has gotten an injection and taking a rest.

Dr Mujuru says police told her security team that two of the five assailants who were arrested and are soldiers. They are currently held at Glen Norah police station.

When ED refused to guarantee a violence free election, this is what he was subtlety urging Zanu-PF youths to do. How can elections be free & fair when presidential candidates are assaulted?

  1. It is tragic that the glorious spirit of that great march day that was the birth ground of the new Zimbabwe and which saw the world watching how great Zimbabwe is and how noble her people seems not to be setting the tone in the build up to the election. Come on Zimbabweans! Free people casting their votes fairly … Let’s show the world that that day was not just a blip!

      1. What makes you so sure they are sponsored? Let them speak for themselves, they were arrested so we’ll hear more.

  2. There is no longer any place for thugs in Zimbabwe and I hope whoever they are, they get prosecuted to the fullest.
