We Need To See The Positive Out of Grace’s Conduct: Mujuru

Former vice president Joice Mujuru has said that the people of Zimbabwe, as well as the world, should appreciate the role that former first lady Grace Mugabe played in her husband’s fall from power. Former president Robert Mugabe lost power after a military intervention in November 2017, after he had fired his former deputy Emmerson Mnangagwa to make way for his wife. Mujuru who was also fired from Zanu-PF in 2014, and endured much ridicule and public humiliation from Grace chose to see the positives in Grace’s sometimes wayward behaviour saying that if it was not for Grace, Mugabe would have become a life president. Addressing villagers in her home area of Dotito, Mujuru said:

We need to seriously reflect and see what part Grace Mugabe played in cutting short her husband’s political career through her behaviour in the last three years.

Grace, through her Meet the People tour which she started in 2014, was the beginning of the script of despot Mugabe’s end.

As the script reached its climax, every time she opened her mouth, Zanu PF lost support base and gained more enemies.

…Citizens and the world over need to see the positive out of Grace’s conduct and where Mugabe is today after 37 years in power.
