"Kasukuwere Was Given Money To Pay Hitman To Assassinate Mnangagwa": Hungwe

Zanu-PF deputy political commissar Omega Hungwe has claimed that former Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere was tasked by the G40 Faction to hire a hitman to kill President Emmerson Mnangagwa using money which was found stashed in his house when soldiers raided him.

Said Hungwe:

Money was stashed in his house. We later learnt that the money was supposed to pay a hitman to assassinate President Mnangagwa. They tried by all means to kill the President. They even poisoned him.

Mnangagwa has also claimed that he fled Zimbabwe after receiving death threats from unknown people. In an interview with Alec Russell, editor of the Financial Times Weekend, Mnangagwa said he knew who was behind the poisoning attempt although they remained on good terms
