Zanu-PF Youths Call For Vice President Kembo Mohadi's Wife's Removal
Beitbridge police on Wednesday barred Zanu-PF youths from demonstrating against Vice President Kembo Mohadi’s wife Senator Tambudzani Mohadi and provincial chairperson Rabelani Choeni whom they accuse of being aligned to former first lady Grace Mugabe’s G40 Faction.
When contacted for a comment by Newsday, the officer commanding Beitbridge police district Chief Superintendent Francis Phiri confirmed there was a meeting by Zanu-PF youths but said he was yet to be briefed of the demonstration. Said Phiri:
There was a meeting of the youths, but I am yet to be briefed about the demonstration that was stopped.
FeedbackMatabeleland South Zanu PF youth chairperson Washington Nkomo confirmed a meeting was held in Beitbridge, but did not shed light on the proceedings. Choeni was hostile to a NewsDay reporter while nefforts by the publication to reach Senator Mohadi for a comment were fruitless.
