Former Sport Minister and Member of Parliament for Mberengwa East Makhosini Hlongwane was yesterday arrested by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) at his farm on the outskirts of Zvishavane town. Police recovered 10 tonnes of sugar beans whose origins could not be immediately established.
Sources who spoke to The Herald said that Hlongwane could not produce receipts for the sugar beans but said that they were donated by a company which he could not disclose. Speaking to The Herald, acting police spokesperson for Midlands Province Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende confirmed the arrest and said Hlongwane was released pending further investigations. She could not disclose the reason why Hlongwane had been arrested. Said Assistant Inspector Mukwende:
I can confirm that police picked up Makhosini Hlongwane at his farm today (yesterday). A statement was recorded before he was released, but investigations are still underway.

This is so embarassing to steal sugar beans? Cry the beloved corruption.
If the sugar beans was donated then it means they were now in the process of being converted for personal use at the expense of the poor.
Or maybe the sugar beans is farmed at his farm
Then it’s wiser for him to show the police the true origin of the sugar beans. Perhaps he intended to give them out during interface rallies with Amai Dr. Grace but events overtook him. Let’s give benefit of doubt and a chance to come clean at the court’s.
its clear these guys are out to exterminate G40. Hapana fight against corruption apa. Real threat pama elections yanga iri ku G40
