Former MDC T MP Says ZANU PF Won't Accept Legitimised Elections

Former Dzivarasekwa MDC-T legislator Solomon Madzore has said ZANU PF will not legitimize itself out of power through electoral reforms and opposition participation in 2018 elections minus reforms will legitimize a ZANU PF flawed, manipulated and sham election.

The outspoken politician said nothing has changed in which the military handpicked Mnangagwa to become Zimbabwean president and have on numerous occasions pronounced that they will not salute anyone without liberation war credentials.

In an interview, Madzore said:

In 2018, if truth is to be said there is not going to be any change, the military will not smile for opposition victory, they are going to subvert the people’s will.

E.D and the army are the same people who have protected Mugabe after losing the previous elections. There is no hope that they are going to somersault and become democratic overnight.

If we have no reforms and change of thinking from ZANU PF and their ‘Zanufied’ military forget about opposition victory and let alone power transfer.

Madzore urged the opposition not to surrender everything to ZANU PF by pushing for unconditional reforms, encouraging Zimbabweans to register as voters and start campaigning for 2018 elections. He also said:

Electoral reforms must be put in place.C.I.O and military operatives staffing ZEC must exit office. Media laws should be democratized.

Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede who has gone beyond his retirement age must be replaced but expect very little progress in that direction as we move towards 2018 elections
