Mnangagwa Was Doing Everything To Protect Mugabe

Zanu-PF National Consultative Assembly member Jimayi Muduviri said that President Emmerson Mnangagwa never plotted against Zimbabwe’s former President Robert Mugabe when he was still Vice President. Muduviri said that contrary to claims that Mnangagwa was plotting against Mugabe, he was instead protecting his former boss.

Muduviri said that Mnangagwa assigned him to investigate who was spreading the narrative that Mnangagwa was plotting against Mugabe. Said Muduviri:

Cde Mnangagwa assigned me to move around all provinces to establish who was behind those fabrications. I travelled the breadth and length of this country in the company of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans’ Association leadership that included Cdes Victor Matemadanda, Headman Moyo and Douglas Mahiya. We never received any report alleging that Cde Mnangagwa was plotting against his former boss. In any case, what we got was that Cde Mnangagwa was doing everything in his capacity to protect Cde Mugabe.
