More than 100 Mnangagwa allies face expulsion
More than 100 allies of former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa face expulsion from Zanu-PF after their provincial coordinating committees recommended that they be fired.
The members will appear before Zanu-PF’s National Disciplinary Committee (NDC). However, one of the officials who faces expulsion is party Secretary for Legal Affairs, Patrick Chinamasa, who chairs the NDC. Asked on how Zanu-PF is going to handle the issue Simon Khaya Moyo said that Chinamasa may recuse himself if need be. Other ministers who face expulsion are; Kembo Mohadi, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Christopher Mushohwe, Josiah Hungwe and Abednico Ncube. Said Khaya Moyo:
The matter was raised in the Politburo and the Secretary for Legal Affairs was tasked with dealing with the issue. We are all guided by the party constitution. The Secretary for Legal Affairs interprets the constitution and he is handling the matter as we speak. The matter is now in the department’s hands and we will be advised accordingly.
