Harare City Council responds to complaints regarding water colour

The Harare City Council has responded to complaints regarding the quality of water arising from issues to do with colour.

In a response released on their Facebook page, City of Harare said that they are addressing the challenge through cleaning their water reservoirs. They said the water colour is  a result of sediments that would have accumulated in the reservoirs which get unsettled when water is restored. Said Harare City Council:

In the past few days there have been complaints with regards the quality of Harare water arising from issues to do with the colour of the water. The city acknowledges the colour challenges in selected suburbs especially Kuwadzana. We are addressing the problem through cleaning of all our water reservoirs. Each time we restore water supplies following supply challenges sediments that would have accumulated in the reservoirs get unsettled hence the colour issues. We advise affected residents to allow the water to run until water with correct colour comes out.
