Govt tightens screws on allocation of Command Agriculture inputs
Government is prioritising those who fully paid up their loans and new entrants with viable irrigation systems in the allocation of Command Agriculture inputs for the 2017-18 farming season.
A source who spoke to The Herald said:
Preference is on those who have serviced their loans, followed by new entrants with verified and functioning irrigation systems. The idea is to enhance recovery so that Government is able to continue financing the programme.
FeedbackHeadlands farmer, Mr Gijima Msindo was denied diesel to start preparations for the 2017-18 farming season because he has not yet fully paid his loan.
