Controversial Matebeleland South proportional representation MP, Priscilla Misihairabwi Mushonga has claimed that 76% of legislators are HIV positive. She said this while contributing to a motion she moved calling on the public service Ministry to state its position on cases of child prostitution.
Said Misihairabwi Mushonga:
Seventy-six percent of the people who are sitting in this House are living with HIV/AIDS and are taking ARVs but we are unable to…yes, very true. You are unable to take out a little bit of money and put it aside so that it can be used to take care of these children, it is sad Mr. Speaker.
Sarah Mahoka weighed in and said that legislators who infect their partners should be killed.
