Mnangagwa says police should arrest witch hunters (Tsikamutanda)

Vice President and Acting President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on the police to arrest all witch hunters, known as Tsikamutanda in Shona. He described the conduct of the tsikamutandas as unlawful and said that cabinet had already deliberated on the issue.  Responding to a question during g Parliament’s question-and-answer session on Wednesday, Mnangagwa said:

It is unlawful for tsikamutandas to do what they do, which is witch-hunting.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, which is responsible for law and order, should arrest such people, and these matters have been reported at the executive level and a directive has been given to the Ministry of Home Affairs to suppress and arrest those practising tsikamutandas.
