John Chigaba (38), Patrick Nyamutongowa (26) and Hillary Masaraure (29), who are members of the police constabulary appeared in courrt on Saturday on allegations of demanding a $30 bribe from a Zimpapers journalist Muchaneta Chimuka. They were released on $50 bail each and remanded to October 17.
The three seized Chimuka’s notes and demanded $30 from her saying they had done her a favour by allowing her to interview suspects they had arrested. Two of the police officers allegedly went to Herald House and met Kwayedza editor Patrick Shamba and told him that without the $30 they were not going to release Chimuka’s notes.
