Zanu-PF goes for Mutsvangwa, war veterans to choose new leaders

Speaking at the Zanu-PF youth interface in Mashonaland Central on Saturday, Defence Minister and Zanu-PF Secretary for War Veterans, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi said that the party’s politburo had decided to dissolve the Christopher Mutsvangwa led Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA).

Said Sekeramayi:

Hatingati ndivo vautungamiriri ivo vachiita basa rekushoropodza mutungamiriri wenyika naamai ( We cannot say they are the war veterans’ leaders when they insult the President and First Lady).

War Veterans Minister Tshinga Dube who has been a supporter of Mutsvangwa also supported Sekeramayi and said that he has been a moron to work with him. Grace Mugabe also chanted a ‘down with Mutsvangwa’ slogan. Chipanga said war veterans expelled from Zanu-PF should not lead or have any say on what happens in the party.
