Makeshift homes of people evicted by First Lady from Arnold Farm in Mazowe destroyed by youths

Suspected Zanu-PF youth members allegedly destroyed temporary shelters being used by villagers who were evicted from Manzou Farm in Mazowe, where First Lady Grace Mugabe is building her business empire. The First Lady is also reported to have seized the state owned Mazowe Dam and barred villagers from using it.

Arnold Farm Residents Association secretary, Innocent Dube said:

They came early today holding logs, ordered everyone to get out before they started attacking our houses.

We have reported the case at Mazowe police station but the police have not shown interest in assisting us and they are saying that they are afraid of being victimized if they act.

The police are not doing their duty which is clearly stipulated by the constitution which says that they (police) must protect and secure the lives and property of the people.

However, Police spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said she was unaware of the case.
