UPDATED: Mutodi arrested over Facebook post on Mugabe succession

Energy Mutodi has been arrested over a Facebook post on President Robert Mugabe’s succession.

In the post Mutodi who is believed to be an ally of Emmerson Mnangagwa stated that a coup is likely to occur if Mugabe does not choose his successor wisely (Read Story Here). Police sources told The Herald that Mutodi was arrested by detectives from the CID Law and Order section on Thursday morning and was taken to Harare Central Police Station where he was said to be assisting police with investigations.

Mutodi will spend the night in police custody after being charged with contravening Section 30 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.
