In an interview on ZiFM Stereo, MDC-T secretary general Douglas Mwonzora confirmed that party Vice President Thokozani Khupe’s attackers are from the party.
Mwonzora said that the meeting that Khupe was holding was legitimate and did not have to be sanctioned by the party. He also said that they have identified some of the people who attacked Khupe and a specialist announcement will be made on Wednesday. He said the people will be brought to book.

Earlier today, MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai held a press conference and condemned the attack. Charlton Hwende also issued an apology to Khupe on his Facebook page for an earlier post which seemed to justify the attack on her.
