CAPS United out of CAF Champions League after losing 4-1 to USM Alger

CAPS United are out of the CAF Champions League after losing 4-1 to Algerian side USM Alger on Sunday evening.

USM Alger’s  Ziri Hammar scored in the 36th minute to give the home side the lead. The score was doubled six minutes later due to some poor defending by CAPS United. Halftime came with Alger leading 2-0.

At the start of the second half CAPS United tested the Algerian’s defence but could not score. In the 79th minute  Oussama Darfalou made it three with a free header inside the box. Abbas Amidu pulled one back for CAPS United against the run of play in the 81st minute. However, Darfalou scored his second to seal CAPS United’s fate. CAPS bowed out of the CAF Champions League with six points from six games. Zamalek are also out after drawing 2-2 with Al Ahli Tripoli who proceed to the next round with USM Alger.
