ZEC expecting general elections to be held no later than September 2018

In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) chairperson Rita Makarau said that although the proclamation of election dates is the duty of the President the commission expects elections to be held no later than September 2018.

Said Makarau:

The proclamation is done by the President, it is outside our mandate, and we know, we are sure, that he will be guided by the Constitution and we are anticipating that elections will be not later than September 2018.
