First Lady Grace Mugabe allegedly received $7 million from Chinese diamond mining company Anjin Investments in order to finance the construction of her school, Grace Mugabe Junior School in Mazowe. According to a report from weekly publication, the Independent, the US$7 million state-of-the-art school was built by funds from Anjin Investments. Her husband, Robert Mugabe, recently complained that the Chineses had used him and lied to him and the people of Zimbabwe.  The school is built on a 7 720-square metre plot and features 27 classrooms, a library, an art room, music room, computer room and auxiliary equipment rooms.

Anjin Investments was a joint venture between the Chinese and Matt Bronze Enterprises, which was formed by the Defence Ministry and the Zimbabwe Defence Forces through Glass Finish Investments (Pvt) Ltd.
