Form 3 pupil beats mum with belt on consultation day for siding with teacher

A form 3 pupil at Brethren in Christ-run Wanezi High School whipped his mother with a leather belt on consultation day for siding with one of the teachers  who had revealed that he was playful and needed to work harder.

A member of staff who spoke to The Chronicle on condition of anonymity said that a female teacher attempted to stop the pupil from beating his mother but was pushed onto the ground. The member of staff said that even male teachers were afraid of restraining him as he appeared to be possessed. Other sources at the school said that the pupil is a bully.

Speaking to The Chronicle Matabeleland South police spokesperson Inspector Philisani Ndebele said the school had decided to deal with the matter internally.
