Chinotimba fumes over Chinx national hero status snub, denied access to President to discuss issue

Yesterday Buhera South legislator Joseph Chinotimba was denied access to President Robert Mugabe and First Lady Grace Mugabe as he tried to push for a review to have late musician Cde Chinx declared a national hero instead of a liberation hero. After being frustrated, Chinotimba promised to call the individual Zanu-PF Politburo members to lobby them to push for Cde Chinx to be declared a national hero. Chinotimba was unhappy that Cde Chinx had been denied the honour yet some other Zanu-PF members who were not involved in the liberation war were buried at the National Heroes Acre.

Speaking to NewsDay, Chinotimba said:

I came here. I wanted to see the First Lady, they denied me access, I wanted to see the President, and they also denied me access.

Now, I am going to call the politburo members one by one and influence them to demand that the politburo meeting will only go ahead after Cde Chinx has been accorded national hero status.
