Dynamos speaks on abandoned match with Chapungu

Dynamos committee member Graham Mafoko said that they were ready to resume the match from the 56th minute but indicated that the Premier Soccer League (PSL) should field the costs.

Said Mafoko:

The onus is on the PSL. If we are to go back to Chapungu I think they would also need to come in and meet our travelling costs because it is not our fault the match was abandoned. Neither was it Chapungu’s nor the referees’.

Mafoko also said it would be unfair to Chapungu for the remaining minutes to be forfeited. He gave an example of the game between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad in 2005 which was resumed with only six minutes to play. However, Zifa Referees’ Committee vice-chairman Gladmore Muzambi said the PSL will have to come up with an independent decision since such situations are not clear on the issue. PSL spokesperson Kudzai Bare said a statement will be issued today after the authorities have gone through the official report from the referees.
