Grace Mugabe could soon be appointed a Minister says constitutional law expert

Institute for Security Studies consultant, Derek Matyszak, told a seminar in Pretoria, South Africa, on Tuesday that Grace Mugabe could soon be appointed in Cabinet so as to insure her family’s security after Mugabe dies.

This comes shortly after Mugabe reshuffled permanent secretaries of several ministries, amid reports of a looming Cabinet reshuffle. Matyszak said that a deal could have been struck between the Mugabes and Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa last year to protect Grace but he said that such a deal was not enough to ensure Grace’s safety. Sources told NewsDay that there were plans to appoint Grace in Cabinet because Mugabe can no longer run Government. However minister of information Christopher Mushohwe could not be reached for comment by NewsDay.
