Opposition criticizes Zanu-PF's "immoral and insensitive" purchase of vehicles fleet

The MDC-T opposition party has criticized the purchase of a fleet of vehicles by the ruling Zanu-PF party at the expense of the suffering masses. The new fleet of Ford Fiestas, Ford Ranger single cab trucks and buses is reported to have cost $60 million dollars and is party of the ruling party’s preparations for the 2018 Elections.

MDC-T’s spokesperson Obert Gutu said:

We have repeatedly stated, and we repeat it here that Zanu PF is a full-fledged mafia organization.

At a time when millions of Zimbabweans are struggling to access their hard-earned money from banks, the Zanu PF regime has gone on a motor vehicle buying spree, splashing more than $60 million on new cars and buses for their 2018 election campaign.

The source of the money is most likely the proceeds of the illicit sale of the country’s diamonds and wildlife. The RBZ (Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe) is completely and utterly powerless to act where Zanu PF is concerned.
