ZRP blocks Nera's Chinhoyi rally citing inadequate notice

The Zimbabwe Republic Police have blocked a rally by the National Electoral Reform Agenda (Nera) in Chinhoyi which was scheduled for today to mobilise people to register for next year’s elections. The rally was scheduled for today. The police barred the rally saying that they had received inadequate notice.

MDC-T provincial organising secretary Wilson Makanyaire said:

Yes, the police told us that we cannot go ahead with our rally citing that we applied at short notice. We have since informed all our members from other provinces who were already preparing for tomorrow’s rally.
