Parliament sits for only 13 minutes after Mphoko fails to show up

Parliament only sat for 13 minutes yesterday and failed to discuss any motions listed on the order paper including the second reading stage of the National Peace and Reconciliation Bill.

MDC-T chief whip Innocent Gonese stood up to raise a point of order on Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko’s absence in the House following his absence on Tuesday. On Tuesday, MPs had vowed they would not debate the second reading stage if Mphoko and his Minister of State, Tabeth Kanengoni were not present.
