Zanu-PF Matebeleland North drops charges against Jonathan Moyo

On Tuesday, Zanu-PF secretary for finance and Umguza legislator Obert Mpofu told Southern Eye that charges against Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo had been dropped. Moyo was accused of using social media to scores with foes in the ruling party.

Moyo faced charges of airing party issues on social media and working against government programmes particularly command agriculture through his strong views against the Emmerson Mnangagwa fronted programme. Last month, Mpofu told a Zanu PF Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) meeting held in Lupane, Matabeleland North that a date will be set to discuss charges against Moyo. In an angry response Moyo described Mpofu as the biblical “Judas Iscariot”.
