Minister of Higher & Tertiary Education, Science & Technology Development Professor Jonathan Moyo has launched a scathing attack on Obert Mpofu, the Minister of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development. This comes after Mpofu had said that Zanu-PF Matabeleland North Province was going to hold a meeting to deliberate on Moyo’s actions for allegedly working in cahoots with Saviour Kaukuwere to set up parallel structures in order to topple President Mugabe. Mpofu also accused Moyo of questioning President Robert Mugabe’s orders and criticising the Command Agriculture scheme.
This did not go down well with Moyo who called Mpofu a Judas Iscariot who is always responsible for the problems faced by Matabeleland North. Moyo tweeted
It’s a BIG shame that Matabeleland North’s problems always come from one BIG Judas Iscariot!

The Professor then went on to release a scathing press statement in which he called Mpofu’s remarks as
“reckless, irresponsible, disrespectful and unacceptable.” Moyo also reminded Mpofu that the two were colleagues and hence on equal footing. As such Mpofu, was supposed to bear in mind that he was not Mpofu’s boss, and if he were to forget this fact, then he should be prepared to face the consequences. He also told Moyo not to throw his weight around in MatabelalandMoyo:
Mpofu is a colleague in Politburo, and not my boss. If he does not respect this fact, he must prepare for the consequences.
Obert Mpofu believes he is the Zanu PF PCC in Mat North… This rot of his has gone on for too long and too far
Mpofu abused PCC, as he so often does, in mistaken belief that just becoz (sic) he has a big body he should throw his weight around
I for one will not allow Obert Mpofu to impersonate King Lobhengula, pretending to be Matabeleland North’s centre of power –
Moyo also said that Mpofu was an opportunistic person who was trying to curry favour with the faction aiming to take over. Said Moyo
Mpofu opportunistic in quest to impress successionist interests in hope of securing a position in their treacherous ranks.
