ZEC to begin Biometric Voter Registration kits tests today
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) will begin site validation tests for Biometric Voter Registration kits starting today. Two companies will be participating in the tests. Laxton Group Limited from China and Dermalog Identification Systems from Germany. ZETES Group from Belgium, withdrew its participation, despite being successful in the bidding. The tests will begin today and endd on the 26th of April 2017.

The bidders were evaluated by a joint team of ZEC and UNDP representatives and three of them emerged as the best contenders. The selection criteria were based on technical compliance of the gadgets to required specifications and pricing
