Nikuv not part of two company shortlist to supply BVR Kits for ZEC
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has revealed that two companies have been shortlisted to supply the biometric voter registration (BVR) kits. The two companies are expected to arrive in the country today ahead of site validation tests. The two firms will conduct mock registration exercises on the 24th and 25th of this month. The exercises will be conducted at an urban school and at a rural school. However, Israel firm Nikuv International is missing from the two company shortlist.
The two shortlisted companies are:
1. Luxton Group Systems from China and
2. Demalog Identification Systems from Germany.
According to Zec chairperson Justice Rita Makarau, a third company Zetes Group of Belgium pulled out.
