Mujuru and Tsvangirai announce MoU between their parties, take first step in forming Grand Coalition

Former Vice President Joice Mujuru who now leads the National People’s Party announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between her party and the Morgan Tsvangirai led Movement for Democratic Change.

The MoU was announced at Mr Tsvangirai’s residence. Mujuru first hinted that she and Tsvangirai were drafting a MoU during an interview with the BBC during her recent visit to Britain in March this year. Mujuru would go on to tell party supporters in Masvingo that she had signed an MoU with Tsvangirai in April. However, Tsvangirai denied claims by Mujuru that the two parties had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a grand coalition.
