Air Zimbabwe pilots do not have contracts, paid "working allowance" instead
The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport in a report notes that Air Zimbabwe pilots do not have working contracts. Instead, the pilots are paid what is termed a “working allowance.” The Committee led by Chegutu West MP, Dexter Nduna also noted that this lack of job security has resulted in the severe brain drain of experienced pilots and engineers at Air Zimbabwe.
Part of the report reads:
There was generally low morale among both pilots and air traffic controllers, who felt that the importance of their profession was not being given due recognition and support,
FeedbackThis has resulted in an unbridled brain drain of skilled and experienced pilots and engineers, and in addition, there was no visible commitment from management to retain the skilled manpower.
