Over 200 human trafficking victims repatriated from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia

Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Mr Melusi Matshiya revealed that over 200 victims of human trafficking are back in the country after being repatriated from Kuwait and Saudia Arabia. Most of the victims had been lured by promises of better-paying jobs but ended up as slave labour.

Matshiya warned people to study the visas they are issued carefully saying:

The issue is it is a free country and the ‘Kadamas’, according to their language, is a servant and if you come up with a visa written ‘Kadama’, it’s a servant visa which already classifies you in terms of the laws of that country and they will receive you as a servant.
