The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) has named Beitbridge the dirtiest town in Matebeleland South Province. The town takes over from Maphisa which was named the dirtiest town last year.
EMA attributed Beitbridge’s dirtiness to a high movement of people. Speaking to The Chronicle, on the sidelines of the Africa Environment Day Commemorations in Plumtree, Environmental Education Officer for Matebeleland South Province Mrs Sithembokuhle Moyo said a number of residential areas in Beitbridge were not serviced which forced people to relieve themselves in bushes.
