Bhasikiti withdraws from Mwenezi by-election, says Zec is partisan

Former  minister Kudakwashe Bhasikiti has withdrawn from the Mwenezi East by-election. Bhasikiti who is one of the members of Zimbabwe People First party withdrew from the election saying that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) was colluding with the ruling Zanu PF party.

Speaking to NewsDay Bhasikiti said:

It’s no longer a threat. Combined with the deadlock we declared against Zec (on Tuesday) as opposition political parties, we have no business participating in anything managed by the current partisan Zec.

This would have been Zimbabwe People First’s second election after the party was trounced in the Bikita West by-election by Zanu-PF.
