Mugabe now in Mauritius for African Economic Platform Summit

President Robert Mugabe arrived in Mauritius yesterday where he is expected to attend the African Economic Platform Summit (AEP) that opens today.

Mugabe was seen off Harare International Airport yesterday by Vice Presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko, Minister of State for Harare Provincial Affairs Miriam Chikukwa, Information Minister Christopher Mushohwe, Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Edgar Mbwembwe, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda, service chiefs and other government officials. Meanwhile Mnangagwa will be acting president.

AEP was launched at the 27th African Union (AU) summit in Kigali, Rwanda in 2016 and seeks to mobilise alternative resources to achieve the continental developmental blueprint, Agenda 2063.
