Gokomere High School head demoted & transferred for diverting exam registration fees to boost Zimsec pass rate

Gokomere High School head Mr Stanley Mutsambiwa was demoted and transferred after being found guilty of diverting examination fees for average students to academically gifted ones to ensure a high pass rate.

Masvingo Provincial Education Director Mr Zadius Chitiga confirmed that Mutsambiwa was demoted to the position of deputy head and transferred to Mutero High School in Gutu. He however could not divulge all the details of Mutsmbiwa’s judgement referring The Chronicle to permanent secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Sylvia Masango-Utete who could not be reached for comment.
