Gumbo & Mutasa threaten Mujuru with $5 million defamation lawsuit

Through their lawyers, Titan Law, expelled Zimbabwe People First co-founders Didymus Mutasa and Rugare Gumbo, have threatened to sue Joice Mujuru  for a combined amount of $5 million for running a story titled “Bigwigs wanted to sleep with me” in which Mujuru alleges that Gumbo and Mutasa wanted to turn her into a sex slave.

In the letter signed by Titan Law’s Senior Partner, G N Mlotshwa, Gumbo and Mutasa demand for a public apology or retraction of the statements which Mujuru is alleged to have said while addressing provincial structures in Masvingo.

Part of the statement by Titan Law reads:

We have instructions to demand from you on behalf of our clients, as hereby do, a full retraction of your allegations along with a public apology with respect of the unfounded statements made denigrating our clients. Should we not have received any such retraction and public apology by close of business this Friday, 24th February, 2017 we will have no option but to proceed with our clients’ further instructions to sue you in the High Court for a combined amount of US$5 million.
