Govt deploys soldiers at central hospitals as doctors strike

Government has deployed army doctors to prevent a crisis caused by the striking doctors.

Secretary of Health and Childcare Dr Gerald Gwinji said that to lessen the impact of the strike, hospital and clinical directors where merging and rearranging their departments while Government has deployed army personnel. Last week doctors doctors downed tools demanding the release of their open practising certificates, upward review of their on-call allowance and non monetary incentives.
