An alleged chat between controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo and Sunday Mail reporter Garikai Mazara is going viral on social media. In the chat, Wicknell verbally abuses Mazara for writting an article which exposes his lack of progress on the Gwanda solar project in an article titled ” The $202 million Gwanda Scam” in the Sunday Mail which came out on 19 February 2017.
Wickenell had claimed that as 70 percent of the pre-commencement work was complete, but Mazara’s article which included a picture showed that the pre-commencement was nowhere near the claimed 70 percent completion, as the area has not been fenced nor are there any boreholes drilled.
After Mazara reaches him for a comment Wicknell initially brushes him off, before attempting to bribe Mazara. However, after the article comes out on Sunday, he is furious and gets back to Mazara and abuses him. He lashes out at Mazara and along the way, he included Mazara’s mother in the abuse.
