Former Chronicle editor appointed head of ZBC radio in Bulawayo

Former Chronicle and Midlands Observer editor, Stephen Ndlovu, has been appointed head of ZBC radio in Bulawayo.Ndlovu, who was fired from the Chronicle in 2005 supposedly for being loyal to then Information Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo, assumed his new position at Montrose studios on Monday.

NewZimbabwe.com reports that the appointment is believed to be part of a series of changes being introduced at the national broadcaster ahead of the 2018 elections. Members of staff who spoke to NewZimbambwe.com expressed fears of massive victimisation as Ndlovu, with no experience in broadcasting, began his first day at work by intimidating his juniors and threatening them with dismissal if they did not tow the line.

Among those affected by the new development is former head of Montrose, Isaac Muzabwa, who is said to have been transferred to Harare.
